Secondary Education Dropout Prediction and Prescriptive Analytics (2024–2025).

The Secondary Education Dropout Analytics is a data-driven initiative developed by the Learning and Knowledge Infrastructure (LKI), IIIT Bangalore, in collaboration with the NITI for States initiative of NITI Aayog. The project aims to support evidence-based educational planning by integrating diverse educational, demographic, infrastructure, and socio-economic datasets into a unified analytical platform.

The platform has been designed to assist policymakers, education departments, researchers, and administrators in understanding the factors influencing secondary school dropout across India. By combining district-level indicators with advanced analytical methods, the project enables the identification of high-risk regions, exploration of key dropout determinants, and evaluation of potential policy interventions. The analytical framework is built using data from two major national sources:

Unified District Information System for Education Plus (UDISE+), which provides comprehensive school-level and district-level education statistics, including enrolment, infrastructure, teachers, and school facilities.

National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5), which provides district-level demographic, health, nutrition, sanitation, and socio-economic indicators used to capture household and community-level factors associated with educational outcomes.
